ISI Worlds!

I am raising money and putting together a program for ISI Worlds this July! I have created a fundly page to help raise the money for this event.  Thank you for supporting me on my journey!

**Update: there was a conflict between Worlds and State Games of America so I have decided to enter the State Games.  They are being held in Lincoln this year, which means I automatically qualify for them because I live in NE.  My fundly page is still active and I appreciate any and all donations and support.**

I Passed!!

Yes, that's right.  On October 31st,  I took my first skating test and passed with flying colors.  Now I have to start practicing for the next one, as well as get a program together for graduation.

Ice Ridge/Burton Powley Shout Out

This past weekend my family went on a short trip to MN for a college visit.  On the way there, we stopped at the Ice Ridge in Des Moines, IA and were able to get my blades repositioned and sharpened.  The Ice Ridge is owned by Burton Powley, 10 time US National Champion and 4 time International Champion.  He is the only EDEA dealer in the area, plus he gets discounts because EDEA sponsors him.  I didn't get the chance to skate in MN, but I am excited to skate tomorrow afternoon.

I saw a video on YouTube a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be cool to post one of my own.
I also got my scratch spin perfectly centered and am doing it centered more often than not. :)

Finally!!

I finally got my skates today!! The first pair I ordered was too small so I had to send them back for a replacement. Anyway, I am so excited to be able to get out on the ice on Monday.

Skates!!

I got my skates!!  Yesterday I placed the order.  I have no idea when they will arrive, but am eagerly awaiting the package in the mail.  In other news, I have a coach and shall begin lessons as soon as my skates arrive.  I am really excited to finally get back on the ice!

Getting Started

I'm finally posting here, I figured this site had sat empty for long enough.  

This is me: A skater, homeschool high school student who loves to skate, enjoys ASL, and hopes to make a career out of both.  I'm working to finance, my skating, but that is not going to cover everything.  The rest will come from sponsors (long or short term support) and donors (one time gifts).  I will post as often as I can with pictures and updates about my skating.
